After beginning rewarding volunteer work for the Lindsay Wildlife Museum several years ago, I decided to make animals and pets my life career.  Originally a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, I returned to school and graduated from the Veterinary Technology Program at Foothill College in 1996 and became a Registered Veterinary Technician that same year.  Since starting work at Adobe Pet Hospital in 1996, I have taken great pleasure in caring for our many patients and assisting our clients.

My many pets at home include 2 dogs, 5 cats, 2 rabbits and 4 tortoises. I also rehabilitate jack rabbits and band tail pigeons for the Lindsay Museum, so my home is always full and interesting.

I am a Registered Veterinary Technician here at Adobe Pet Hospital. In March 2004, I completed the Veterinary Technician course at Western Career College and obtained an associate degree in science. In July 2004, I passed the state board exam and received my R.V.T. license. I then worked for an internal medicine specialty practice for four years before joining the staff here at Adobe Pet Hospital.

I enjoy working with animals and spending time at home with my own animals, which include three dogs, two pigs and one horse.  I also like to spend time with my family, going fishing and camping.

I knew that I wanted a career with animals the moment I walked in the pet grooming salon where I previously worked.  I was there for about 5 months when I realized that pet grooming was not for me and decided to try and take on a more challenging and rewarding role.

In July of 2006, I started attending Western Career College to study veterinary technology.  It was there when my love for animals blossomed.  After many hours of lectures, labs and clinical rotations, I was given the opportunity to do my externship at Adobe Pet Hospital where I became one of their newest employees.

When I am not at Adobe Pet Hospital, my fianceé Steven and I are busy planning our wedding.  I also take care of two dogs, Chloe and Krispy and my bearded dragon, LD (“Little Dude”).

Amy Young, Nurse Assistant

Amy Young, R.V.T.

Amy has been a part of the Adobe Pet Hospital family since 2002. She began her career with animals in 1999 while working in San Diego assisting veterinarians and treating pets at humane societies. As a veterinary assistant, she spends her days assisting the doctors in surgery, treating sick pets, and greeting and checking in patients. Growing up in Livermore, she enjoyed raising pigs through FFA, barrel racing with her horse, and caring for a variety of pets including dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, and chinchillas.

When she is not caring for pets at Adobe, Amy enjoys spending time with her human and pet family. Her furry family consists of a spoiled cat, Isabella, a Staffordshire terrier named Ruby, and pit/boxer mix Dudley.

Diana Martin, Nurse Assistant

Diana Martin, R.V.T.

I was born and raised in Livermore and as a member of our veterinary team, I look forward to caring for pets in the community.  I began my career with animals by volunteering with the Valley Humane Society for 5 ½ years.  I graduated with a BS in Biology from CSU Hayward in 2000 and have previously worked as a veterinary assistant in Union City and Fremont.

When not working at Adobe, I spend my free time reading and taking care of my 7 cats and Buster Brown, my chocolate lab.
